Course Overview

This academic English module serves as a university pathway course and aims to prepare students for future study at university. That is, it focuses on aspects of critical reasoning, academic vocabulary, academic integrity, referencing and plagiarism in addition to refining the four English language skills, writing (paragraphs, essays), listening, reading and speaking.

Through its sequential approach, this module ensures a progressive learning journey, starting with fundamental language skills and builds on the foundations, delving into academic writing and research techniques, critical thinking and analysis and presentation skills. This module is designed to equip students with the comprehensive linguistic and academic competencies necessary for successful engagement in higher education settings.
